He has over 30 years’ experience working as a Maintenance and Reliability Professional for companies/organizations such as US Army, Exxon Company USA, Alcoa Mt Holly, Kendall Company, and Life Cycle Engineering. Ricky worked for one of three plants in the world to ever be certified as achieving “World Class Maintenance” and is commonly making the statement, World Class Production through World Class Maintenance (Alcoa, Mt Holly)
Ricky Smith is a well-known Maintenance and Reliability book author, consultant, and best practices educator. Authoring such books as “Rules of Thumb for Maintenance and Reliability Engineers”, “Industrial Machinery Repair, “Lean Maintenance”, “Failure Reporting Made Simple” and many more.

He has a diverse background in the oil & gas industry, mining, shipbuilding, new construction, renewable energy (wind turbines/hydro power), power generation (steam & gas turbines) and forestry (sawmills, OSB, pulp & paper).
He has a passion for teaching and growing the people around him, he loves a challenge, and he enjoys meeting new people and sharing his passions of maintenance and mechanical systems. He has a positive attitude, is eager to see you succeed, and has high energy in everything he does.

Do you do in person trainings and coaching sessions?
Due to COVID travel restrictions, at this time, we do not offer in person trainings. All coaching sessions are held virtually through Zoom.
